In The Brown Bottle

As I wrote in a blog earlier this week, my Granny and Dad think that vinegar can prevent, cure, or fix anything. I tend to lean towards peroxide for various things besides cleaning wounds. Apparently I am not the only one. A friend sent me an email yesterday about several uses for peroxide. I had never thought of some of them, and felt others could benefit. Supposedly this was written my the wife of a doctor who claims that the brown bottle that usually costs less than a dollar is the miracle-in-a-bottle we've all been looking for.

~ Doctor's offices do not smell like bleach because they use peroxide as a disinfectant. Bleach can be very harmful; in fact, it was invented as weapon against our troops in WWII. Peroxide on the other hand, was invented for the soul purpose of sanitation of wounds and medical instruments during WWI.
~ Take one capful of peroxide and hold it in your mouth for ten minutes daily, then spit it out. No more canker sore, and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes.
~ Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of peroxide to keep them free of germs.
~ Clean your counters and tables with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it on the counters.
~ After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria.
~(This one is kind of gross) To cure or prevent foot fungus, spay a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water on them and let dry overnight.
~Soak any infections or cuts in peroxide for 5-10 minutes several times a day. This will heal infections that other medications will not even touch.
~ Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without harming your septic system, which other cleaners can possibly do.
~ Swish a capful in mouth for ten minutes daily to take away pain from a toothache.
~ Use half of a bottle in your bath to help rid boils, fungus, or other skin infections.
~ Use a cup of peroxide in the laundry with your whites instead of bleach. Also use peroxide as a stain treatment; it will remove blood, tomato-based stains, and most other stains as well.
~ Use it to clean mirrors and glass in your home. It will not smear.
~ Drip peroxide into an infected ear... You will hear the peroxide bubbling up the ear wax and anything else that's in there.
~ Pour onto a clean rag and clean painted walls. This works wonderfully!!!
~ And of course, if you like a natural look to your hair, spray the 50/50 solution on your wet hair after a shower and comb it through. You will not have the peroxide-burnt blond hair, but have more natural highlights. It's a gradual change, so it's not a sudden shock to the system.

If you know anymore uses, let me know. I have used it to remove blood stains and to clean walls. I have never used it as a mouthwash, and I'm not sure that I could start now. It is interesting though how much can be done with one little bottle.
