Wild Thang

Believe it or not, we have another new kitten at our house. I know what you're thinking, Will it ever end? Probably not. We live smack in the middle of the woods and have three outdoor cats, all female, and only one of those is "fixed." No plans have been made to get the others fixed despite the drama. When Patches was pregnant with Trouble, we thought that Prissy was pregnant as well, but we never saw any new kittens. Until Tuesday morning. When Roommate was on her way out the door, she saw the cutest little gray kitten on the porch. She sent me a text message and said that it was out there, it was gray, and it was mean. That was a joke about Smokey being the daddy. I went out to check on it, and it is the cutest little thing. It appears to be just a week or two younger than Trouble. It actually looks a lot like Trouble only it's gray where Trouble is orange. And its eyes are so blue that they're almost purple. We named it Smokey. We're not sure if Smokey is a boy or a girl. Roommate wasn't lying when she said it was mean. Since it hasn't seen people before, it freaks every time we come near. It hisses and claws and then runs. We did finally catch it later on that night, and it let me hold it for a long time. But it would never cuddle and never really warmed up to me. If we can catch it again, we're going to give it to Brother and Sister-in-law. They're afraid of getting rats and have been wanting an outdoor cat to help keep them away. I can't think of a better cat in the world than that wild thang!
